Welcome, Wiggler

Your remote work friends

Wiggle Work is a Discord community for remote tech and tech adjacent workers to feel less isolated by connecting in a genuine, less business-bear space.

Best Benefits

Together, we fill the existing gaps in the remote working lifestyle.

Combat Loneliness

While there are many benefits to remote work, the isolation and loneliness that many experience is very real. Join new friends for video calls, distractions, professional development, and just hang out with us in Discord all day.

Get Help

Ask the group any professional or personal questions you may have. It’s a safe, knowledgeable group of people that are happy to share their experiences and general advice—the perfect group to tap for feedback or recommendations.

Make Connections

This space is exceptional for folks that are not into traditional networking. Here, you’ll make friends first and professional connections second. The group is comprised of experienced developers, designers, project managers, and more.

Have Fun

Above all else, Wiggle Work values a casual, welcoming, warm, fun environment. We don’t take ourselves too seriously and are quick to share our favorite things from around the web, talk about LEGO, and host meme competitions.

Chatty Channels, Enticing Events

What we get into

At Wiggle Work, you can expect daily discussion prompts, regularly scheduled video calls with and without an agenda, book banter, guest presenters, game groups, special weird events, and much more. Members are also free to own and run with their own projects and jump on impromptu coworking calls.

Our most popular channels include spaces to seek advice, share pet pics, post your weekly wins, job search, and talk about snacks. There are also private channels for more sensitive topics, such as freelancing and community organizing. We maintain a community wiki that maps this all out for members.

A peek at the happenings

Here’s a quick look at some of our past events and discussions to get a better feel for what we are all about. If you’re still unsure, let’s jump on a call and talk it through.

"Wiggle Work is the set of peers I need to stay sane as an independent contractor. It's small enough to get to know people, and large enough to have a lot of variety in the people. Key to it's caring culture is having Joni as our moderator. She's a skilled community manager for sure."

"My reason to join was wanting to have a stable office kitchen meeting place regardless of where I am or for whom I work. So far Wiggle Work is that place for me."
